SPIRIT DAY AND REVISITING OUR COMMUNITY TEAM BUILDING

TPS will be celebrating Cozy Day on Friday, March 27th! Students are invited to come to school in comfy clothes or pajamas, and they may bring along a small stuffy if they wish.

In the afternoon, our students will be reconnecting with their Community Building Groups for a special literacy-focused activity. Teachers will share a favourite read‑aloud, and students will spend time enjoying books together in their groups.

We kindly ask that each student bring a book from home to share and read with others during this activity.

We look forward to a warm, cozy, and community‑centered day of reading together!

COMMUNITY TEAM BUILDING – MATERIALS NEEDED

Dear Families,

We are busy preparing another series of school-wide Community Building events and we need your help. We are collecting new and recycled materials for a special project that will continue to support our STEM learning. Students are welcome to bring in items starting Monday March 23rd. Thank you in advance for your support!

Materials we are collecting:

  • Recycled cardboard
  • Recycled newsprint
  • Plasticine
  • Straws
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Decorative items (ie. Pompoms, stickers, beads)

SPRING PIZZA LUNCH ORDERS- LAST DAY TO ORDER IS MARCH 31st

Thornhill Public School is pleased to offer individually boxed cheese pizza slices from Pizza Pizza and sandwiches from Subway for sale as our Spring 2026 Lunch Program. This is a part of our fundraising efforts to support school-based initiatives.  Please see School Cash Online.  The last day to order is March 31st – NO EXCEPTIONS.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS – SIP AND SHARE

It was wonderful to see our families at our last “Sip and Share” gathering in March.  We had a great discussion about mental health, and we are planning to continue these important discussions on Thursday, April 16th from 8:15 -9:30 a.m.  Parents, guardians and grandparents are all welcome to attend and you can choose if you prefer to be a quiet listener or an active participant.  We want everyone to feel comfortable.  We are pleased that Terri Keay, a social worker from York Hills, will be joining us once again.  We hope to see you on April 16th!

LUNCH PERMISSION REMINDERS

This is a reminder to parents who have given permission to allow their child to leave to school property at lunch: As noted in our School Start Up Forms, the school has no responsibility for students who leave the school propertyWith such permission, students are in the care of/responsibility of the parent for the lunch hour. If you have provided permission, you should consider reviewing safety protocols with your child.  This is good practice regardless of lunch time permission, as students become older and more independent in the community.
