SIP AND SHARE – MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Our next Sip and Share will be on Thursday, May 21st from 8:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.  We will continue our conversations about about student mental health and well being.  We are pleased to welcome back Terri Keay from York Hills! You can choose to be a quiet listener or an active participant—whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

TERRI KEAY- PARENTING YOUR ANXIOUS CHILD

We are also excited to share that Terri will join us just before our next school council meeting at 6:30 on Thursday, June 4th to share a presentation called “Parenting your Anxious Child”.  Please join us and stay for School Council!  You will not be disappointed – Terri is a wealth of knowledge!  Please see the attached flyer for more details.

 

PEAC NEW MEMBER APPLICATION

York Region District School Board is accepting applications for membership on the Board’s Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) between May 14 and June 10, 2026. Please share this information with your school communities by using the newsletter insert provided below. A letter will also be sent to families later in May when applications open.

Family members interested in serving as a member of PEAC are asked to submit an application between May 14 and June 10, 2026.

PEAC supports, encourages and enhances parent, family and community engagement at the Board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. It represents the collective voice of parents/guardians who have children attending public schools in York Region. Members are expected to attend a minimum of five meetings each year. The first meeting date for the new membership is December 3, 2026, which is a joint meeting with our Equity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee (EIAC).

Interested parents/guardians and community members are invited to submit an application using an online application form that will be available on the PEAC website May 16. YRDSB Accepting Applications for Board Committees

York Region District School Board is accepting applications for membership on two advisory committees that provide important family and community perspectives at the Board level. 

Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) 

Applications open May 14 - June 10, 2026.

Parents, caregivers and family members are invited to apply for membership on PEAC. The committee offers families a meaningful opportunity to share their perspectives and support family engagement at the Board level to improve student achievement and well-being.

Equity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee (EIAC)

Applications open May 11 - June 15, 2026

Spring/Summer 2026 (13 weeks) Cookie Sales - Fundraiser for Grade 8 Graduation

Thornhill Public School will continue the Cookie Sales Fundraiser to support our Grade 8 Graduation.
You can pre-order individually wrapped cookies from Terra Cotta (nut free, kosher & halal certified) for $2 each. Total of $26 for 13 weeks.
The choices are Chocolate Chip DeLite, Funfetti DeLite, Fudge Chip DeLite, and Vanilla Butterfly Cookies for Spring time !
* You can also order once a week for $2 each, from the "Weekly Order - Grade 8 Graduation Cookie Sales Fundraiser" item on School Cash Online.

Cookies will be delivered weekly on the following Tuesdays:

April 7, 14, 21, 28
May 5, 12, 19, 26
