Save the Dates - Arts Night
Come and celebrate an evening of The Arts with us at TPS on Thursday May 22nd from 6 to 7:30 p.m. including performances by classes from Kindergarten to 8 along with visual arts displays. We look forward to seeing you there!
Sip and Share - Mark Your Calendars
Our next Sip and Share will be on Thursday, May 22nd from 8:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. We will continue our conversations about the book, The Anxious Generation, as we reflect on “Part 3” which will focus on the effects of a phone-based childhood. Parents, guardians, and grandparents are all welcome to attend, even if you are not reading the book! You can choose to be a quiet listener or an active participant—whatever makes you feel most comfortable. We hope to see you on May 22nd!
Student Drama Club Request
Juliana our Grade 5 Student Director of the Acting club and she is hoping to collect costumes for their Cinderella play. If you have a costume to donate, please send them to Ms. Shillinger who will collect them on behalf of Juliana.
A Message from Our Board: Invitation to Join PEAC
York Region District School Board is accepting applications for membership on the Board’s Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC). PEAC supports parent and family engagement at the Board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. Applications are due June 11, 2025. Interested parent and family applicants are invited to learn more about the role of PEAC, eligibility and how to apply by visiting the Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) webpage.
Message from the City of Vaughan
The City of Vaughan will be hosting Virtual Public Engagement Sessions on Wednesday May 21st and Tuesday May 27thto gather feedback on a proposed reduction to speed limits in community safety zones. To register for these sessions, the City of Vaughan has posted a registration link on vaughan.ca/30km, as well as additional information about the proposal.

Planning on Moving?? Each year at this time we begin to plan our staffing and classes for the upcoming school year. It is important for us to know how many students to expect for September at Thornhill P.S. for grades JK to 8. If your children (grades JK to 7) will NOT be returning to our school in the fall, please inform the office as soon as possible.
